Houseplant Care

Leaf Shine

Pixie Sparkle Leaf Shine™ can be used on most hard leafed tropical foliage. It is used to clean water spots, and dust and dirt from tropical foliage plants, creating a safer and neater product to work with.

Plants that are being treated should not be in direct sunlight. Plants should be watered before application.
Using cleaners or brighteners for palms and some other indoor plants is not recommended. Palms are monocot plants and therefore have stomata on the surface of the leaf and on the underside. Applying leaf shine could block a great many of these microscopic pores.

It should not be used on the following plants:

  • African Violets or any other hairy-leafed plants
  • Cacti,
  • Ferns
  • Palms
  • Nephthytis
  • Norfolk Island Pine
  • Succulents

Note: Never apply or spray leaf shine to the undersides of leaves on any plant.

To use Leaf Shine:

  1. Mix  ½ ounce Pixie into a clean 12 ounce spray bottle of water. For more shine, use less water. For a more natural luster, use more water.
  2. Shake the dilution frequently during use.
  3. Completely spray top surface of leaves and let dry.
  4. For heavily soiled leaves, spray top surface of leaves and then rinse with water, or wipe with clean soft cloth or cotton gloves.

Note: Make sure the cloth is clean when you begin and has not be used with any solvents or household cleaners.
