Livistonia was named in honor of the Baron of Livingston, Patrick Murray, whose garden ― which is located near Edinburgh, Scotland and established in 1670 ― became the foundation of the Edinburgh Botanic Garden. The leaves of these palms have been used for centuries for roofing, and their stems for making rope. It can grow to be quite large and should be placed where it will not interfere with foot traffic or window blinds.

Maintenance Tips
Prune lower, discolored fronds as close to the trunk as possible. Remove decaying matter from the soil surface to prevent pests and disease.
Avoid placing these plants in direct sunlight. Keep soil moist but do not overwater or allow plant to sit in water.
