Syngonium is a vining plant with arrowhead shaped leaves. The leaves may be solid green or one of many varieties of variegations and colors. The name “Nephytis” comes from the name of the Egyptian goddess of the household “nephytis” and was chosen for because it is easy to grow and does very well as an indoor plant.
Country of Origin
Mexico and Central America
Maintenance Tips
The heavily variegated cultivars need bright, filtered light. Those that have less variegation or are solid green will do well in medium light.
If the leaves seem to be transparent, it probably needs fertilizing.
If the plant is located near a window and the leaves look bleached, it is sunburned because of too much sun. Move the plant away from the window; the scorched leaves won’t recover and should be trimmed off. The plant should replace the leaves with new growth.
