The Norfolk Island pine is not a pine, but rather a member of the Araucariacae family. It is a cone-bearing plant and is salt-tolerant. The Norfolk resembles a fir tree with its sharp needles (leaves) that grow in rows on its limbs and trunk.
Country of Origin
Norfolk Island (somewhere between New Caledonia and Australia in the South Pacific).
Maintenance Tips
Leaves will scorch if plant is in a draft or dry air. Leaves will drop if soil is too wet or too dry.
Poor drainage, too-frequent watering, or standing in water will cause root rot.
Avoid placing this plant in direct sunlight.
